From Linden Tree’s 2012 REVEAL Collection line we introduce: Micka.

Cheerful and sunny are two words to describe this beautiful hutch. The neutral cedar wood compliments any room’s color scheme and the yellow is warm and inviting. This is a fabulous storage and display piece.  It’s a solid, sturdy one-pice cabinet.

This hutch is named after Micka. Here’s her story: Having experienced homelessness, abandonment by her mother and the challenges of raising her younger siblings all as a teenager, Micka has persevered through a lot. Despite all these issues, she remains enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing. She is daily growing in her relationship with God. She is a strong girl with a shining personality.

Simple, yet chic. This small end table is quite charming. The gray floral wallpaper is appropriate. The table is perfect for displaying books & holding a teacup. Not only is this piece attractive, it’s eco-friendly, like all Linden Tree pieces.

West Palm Beach Antiques Festival

Linden Tree will be displaying and selling our gorgeous furniture pieces at a booth at the West Palm Beach Antiques Festival from Friday, June 1st to Sunday, June 3rd. Come support Taylor’s Closet through your support of Linden Tree. Tell everyone you know about it! You’ll find our booth right next to the main entrance doors to the festival.

Sneak Peek: Monica

This large and comfy chair was donated to us! It has such a distinct shape and a load of make-over possibilities. This will be our first 2012 upholstery piece. We are so excited to see it finished! This piece is named after Monica.

Here’s her story: Growing up with a difficult home life, Monica wants to turn her life around. She has big dreams of becoming a pediatrician and a gymnastics coach one day. Monica loves to spend her time reading and writing.

Sneak Peek: Destiny

This cute desk was literally dropped off on our doorstep. Such a nice surprise! It’s petit and has lots of potential. Can’t wait to see it re-done. This desk is named after Destiny.

Here’s her story: Destiny is a sweet girl who enjoys shopping at Taylor’s Closet. Having experienced dysfunction and abuse in her home, she now lives with her grandma. Destiny wants to do good in school and hopes to one day get her Master’s Degree.

From Linden Tree’s 2012 REVEAL Collection line we introduce: Katia.

Brown wood-tones and light turquoise floral wallpaper blend so smoothly on this bookshelf. This is a great display piece with an extra shelf hidden behind the bottom double doors. This bookshelf is simple, yet the patterned wallpaper makes it so eye-catching. It’s such a lovely combination overall.

This bookcase is named after Katia. Here’s her story: Katia is a very sweet, soft-spoken girl. Abandoned by her mother at a young age and primarily raised by her grandmother, Katia has not had an easy upbringing. She enjoys dancing and painting even despite the recent heartbreak of having to watch her grandmother battle cancer. She is daily learning to trust in God.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce one of our favorite pieces, from Linden Tree’s 2012 AWAKEN Collection line: Allison.

Bold yet delicate, distressed yet cheerful. This beautiful antique dresser is a one of a kind piece. The natural wood brown and the warm yellow are a wonderful compliment to the bright red knobs. This piece has a total of seven drawers providing great storage. It’s on casters making it easy to move.

A true antique! This gorgeous granite-top buffet is delightful. It’s cute little caster wheels and “secret” pocket side door are so original. The three-arch detailing in the center compliment the round knobs nicely. This piece has such character.

This buffet is named after Iris. Here’s her story: At 22 years old, she is a mother to 3 young children. She was absent from her mother during her younger years and since has reconciled with her.  All things can be made new….She is trying to look ahead and make a new life for her children.

Introducing the first 2012 Linden Tree REVEAL Collection piece: Lindsay.

What a beautiful and simple transformation! This solid wood dresser got some much needed TLC with a fresh coat of eco-friendly orange paint, a lightly distressed finish and charming black and white porcelain knobs.  Each of the four drawers is lined with the dresser’s original vintage newspaper looking print. A wonderful addition to any bedroom.

This dresser is named after Lindsay. This is her story: After giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, she finally felt like life had a new meaning.  Coming from an abusive relationship, she has found a new hope in being a good mom.  She has chosen to look forward and begin a new life.

Sneak Peek: Kerry Ann

So we went thriting this month in search of some new pieces for our February Showing coming up. Let me tell you, God set us up! On our way to the Salvation Army thrift store we had to stop for a looooong passing train. Well, being the extra-patient people that we are, we decide to drive around it. Good thing we did because just as we arrived at the thrift store a pick up truck with a father & son team were about to donate this desk & a marble-top buffet (that we will give you a sneak peek of shortly) to the Salvation Army. Out of curiosity we asked them if they had just bought these pieces or if they were dropping them off as a donation. They replied that they just wanted to give them away and get them out of their truck already! We happily offered to take these pieces off their hands. Not just that, these kind men even drove the pieces to our store (just a few blocks north of the thrift store). So fun how this all went down.

Furniture Stamp

Our Linden Tree logo furniture stamp is in! And, it’s oh-so pretty. It will go great with our earth-friendly water-based ink (in comparison with oil-based or alcohol-based inks that aren’t so environmentally kind).

Did you know that the actual “linden tree” produces oil that aids in the healing process? That to us is so special as it perfectly ties into the work that is done with the foster care girls at Taylor’s Closet.
